The Fauxnix is so named for its resemblance to the mythical bird, the Phoenix. While it does not die and come to life in a firey explosion, they lay their ash-colored eggs immediately following an Alpine Wildfire, camouflaging their nests and young from predators, and reaping the rewards of the rebounding life. Much like Peacocks, Fauxnixes use their flashy plumage to attest to their strength with mates, and distract and startle predators. However, both males and females share in this display, coloring the P1 Alpine so much like the rainforest. |
